3.5 stars13/9 - After 4 months of on and off reading, I finally, finally finished this!!!! Replace the word people in the gif and this more or less describes my experience with reading [b:The Eternity Cure|13581990|The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2)|Julie Kagawa|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1362772965s/13581990.jpg|19167673] and by extension, [b:The Immortal Rules|10215349|The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)|Julie Kagawa|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1323357921s/10215349.jpg|15114912] last year.I don't know WHY, but I just couldn't connect with the books. I loved the dark dystopian world, I liked the characters, especially Allie a lot (which was more than what I could say for Meghan in IF) and I enjoyed the writing. I was anxious to find out what happened to Kanin after he was captured and read on until Allie and Jackal were surrounded by rabids. And I just stopped reading. For weeks. Then I would read a bit and put it down again. It mystifies me because I didn't stop because I felt bored or didn't like the story. That said, I'm glad I got to finish it at last. Hopefully [b:The Forever Song|17883441|The Forever Song (Blood of Eden, #3)|Julie Kagawa|/assets/nocover/60x80.png|25046312] would be a better experience... ---------------------Hmmm...UK cover:Aussie (early take -> latest cover shown in Netgalley)I like the middle one, but with red author name and series title.
