My first John Green book!!! I've been greatly looking forward to reading his books since I heard so many good things about them. When the gorgeous box set was on sale about a year ago, I jumped at the chance to buy it.After reading this. Well, I came away not feeling disappointed or super-awed...but more along the lines of "eh...". This book wasn't boring, nor did I feel compelled to put it down. I read it straight up, only pausing to eat dinner. The problem (for me) was that I felt nothing while reading it. I couldn't relate to the characters, I couldn't empathize with them and I just wasn't emotionally invested. Not the way I was with Melina Marchetta's [b:On the Jellicoe Road|1162022|On the Jellicoe Road|Melina Marchetta|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1212708945s/1162022.jpg|6479100] and [b:Saving Francesca|82434|Saving Francesca|Melina Marchetta|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327865374s/82434.jpg|18042740] (both books which had a similar theme).Frankly, this book would have been 2 stars (it was okay) if not for the final 2 pages, which was my favorite part of the entire book.
