Looking for Alaska - John Green My first John Green book!!! I've been greatly looking forward to reading his books since I heard so many good things about them. When the gorgeous box set was on sale about a year ago, I jumped at the chance to buy it.After reading this. Well, I came away not feeling disappointed or super-awed...but more along the lines of "eh...". This book wasn't boring, nor did I feel compelled to put it down. I read it straight up, only pausing to eat dinner. The problem (for me) was that I felt nothing while reading it. I couldn't relate to the characters, I couldn't empathize with them and I just wasn't emotionally invested.
